Endorsements have finalized the ballot in District 49.
District 49A includes Edina and District 49B includes parts of Edina, Bloomington, Eden Prairie and Minnetonka.
Republican candidate Dario Anselmo of Edina won the endorsement at the convention Saturday, March 15, over candidate Polly Peterson Bowles of Edina and will challenge Rep. Ron Erhardt, DFL Edina, in House District 49A in November.

Erhardt has taken the lead on a number of bills that are good for Edina and the state, including a workforce safety bill requiring new speed limits and no cellphone use in road construction zones, he said, pointing out that there have been two deaths in construction zones in recent years.
She said supports decreasing the tax burden on residents whenever possible and less government intrusion in people's lives. Jobs need to increase for economic growth by making it easier to do business, she said. People are concerned about the health care exchange MNsure and health care reform is needed to assure choice, quality and affordability, she said. More can also be done so all students have excellence in education, she said.
Anselmo sold the Fine Line last year after 20 years at the helm. He co founded the Warehouse District Business Association and was a member of the Minneapolis Downtown Council.
Candidates endorsed for District 49 election
Winton's campaign was inclusive rather than exclusive, and seeing that was a crystallizing moment for Anselmo. Politics can be divisive and he said he wants to change politics with a unifying message. He said he hopes to make politics fun, engaging and positive.
Erhardt, a financial planner, is seeking his 11th term as House representative. He was first elected in 1990 and served nine terms as a Republican until he broke from the party due to his stance on social issues. He ran and lost as an Independent in 2008 after losing the Republican endorsement to Keith Downey. He sought the DFL endorsement in 2010, losing to Kevin Staunton. He was elected as a DLFer to his 10th term in 2012 after winning against Bill Glahn.
Republican candidate Barbara Sutter of Bloomington was the sole candidate seeking endorsement in House District 49B at the endorsing convention March 15, and will challenge Rep. Paul Rosenthal, DFL Edina.
Erhardt, chairman of the House Transportation Policy Committee, is focusing on getting some things settled this legislative term, including eliminating the business to business tax and Nike Dunk Fish Ladder
He's been around it and now is the time to run for office, he said.
